Exclusive: Jimkata Premiere The Video For “Jumping Out Of Airplanes”

Calling on the help of Broadway star and childhood friend Carleigh Bettiol, Jimkata present the video for their latest track “Jumping Out Of Airplanes”.

Having already earned themselves support and critical acclaim from the likes of Nerdist, Billboard and The Music Ninja, among others, and following on from the release of their fourth fan-funded LP In Motion in February, New York’s Jimkata have released the video for their latest track “Jumping Out Of Airplanes” and PopWrapped are delighted to host its premiere.

With everyone starting to get into that summer spirit, and, in particular, graduates (like myself!) stepping out into the world for what can feel like the first time, “Jumping Out Of Airplanes” is a full on anthem representing the power and sense of fulfillment that comes when you step outside of the box, take a chance on something and think for yourself rather than like everyone else.

The video stars the band’s childhood friend Carleigh Bettiol, an actress and star of the current Broadway smash-hit Hamilton. Asked why she wanted to be involved, she says:

Doing this project was important to me first and foremost because of my relationship with Jimkata; we all grew up together. The first time I heard “Jumping Out of Airplanes”, I felt connected to it. I moved to NYC alone after getting a business degree and decided to pursue my dreams of being a performer on Broadway. I didn’t know anyone and didn’t have an agent to send me to auditions, but I had to find a way. Long story short, I picked up a Backstage newspaper and pounded the pavement, auditioning as much as possible.

Dancing through the streets of Manhattan for this video was surreal. People would stop to watch me, some people came up to me to ask questions or compliment me, and others just went on their way, as anything goes in Manhattan. It made me feel alive to dance around, not caring who was watching or what they were thinking.
