Joni Mitchell will be attending the Luminato Festival in Toronto in June.
To celebration of her 70th birthday, the festival will be having a two-night concert dedicated to Mitchell’s work at Massey Hall called Joni: A Portrait in Song — A Birthday Happening (which she will be attending). It will take place on June 18 and 19.
Many great artists will be performing at the tribute concert for the Canadian musician – including, but not limited to, Esperanza Spalding and Rufus Wainwright.
According to the Toronto Star, on June 16th Mitchell will also be taking part in a conversation series the New York Times produces called Time Talks. There she and Brian Blade (drummer) will be talking to Jon Pareles (a pop music critic) about their careers.
