In his directorial debut, Joseph Gordon-Levitt both directs and stars in Don Jon, a story about a man named Jon Martello with a massive pornography addiction. Jon vows to become less selfish and more honest after learning valuable lessons on love from a night school classmate named Esther (Julianne Moore) and classic romantic Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson).
Alongside Gordon-Levitt will be Brie Larson and Tony Danza in supporting roles. According to Gordon-Levitt, Don Jon is what he considers a love story.
"I wanted to tell a love story, and in my observations, what gets in the way of love often times is the way the people objectify each other," he states.
Picked up by Relativity Media, the film will be released on October 13th in the US and November 15th in the UK.
