Hailing from Staten Island, New York, to many Josh Limage is a musical newcomer, however in certain musical circles, he’s already established himself as a gifted artist and performer.
As an ex-opera singer, Josh knows all about the joys that come from performing for an audience. Having been classically trained and been fortunate enough to taken to the stage at the world famous Carnegie Hall (how many artists can say they’ve done that?!), he’s most certainly at home in the music world.
Inspired and influenced by his classical training and favourite classical music, he almost effortlessly blends them with jazz to create truly unique melodies and chord progressions unlike any you or I have likely ever heard before.
As a fan of Tori Kelly, The Weeknd and Chris Martin of Coldplay among others, he’s currently gearing up for the release of his new, self-created EP Urban Mindset, which is scheduled for release in September.
The collection, thanks to Josh bringing together an array of musicians and artists from around Staten Island, combines the urban settings of New York with a rural and more broader influence, with each song on the EP having its own symbolic meaning and story to tell.
To get fans excited, he’s soon to release the first single to be taken from the EP titled “Light Bulb”, which you can listen to below.
Opening with an undeniably catchy beat – I dare you to try and resist tapping your feet – “Light Bulb” is somewhat stripped back in terms of its musicianship, allowing Josh’s smooth vocal to rightly take centre stage. In a world over-ridden with pointless pop ditties that you can forget in an instant, Josh instead presents a track which lingers long after you’ve heard it and, with a guest vocal from Mike Chronic, is worthy of repeat plays wherever you may be when you listen to it, so turn up the volume, sit back and lose yourself in one of the best tracks of the year so far.
