True Detective has become enigmatic with the developments for its highly anticipated final season, with the news that only writer and creator Nic Pizzolato would be returning, thus allowing speculation to commence as to who would be appearing in front of and behind the cameras for the second season. However, it seems we’ve finally found a director in Justin Lin, who is in talks to direct a few episodes of the show.
Lin, who is best known for the The Fast and The Furious franchise, is in serious negotiations to direct at least the first two episodes of the second season of True Detective.
The second season will reportedly be about a trio of detectives and the seedy California transport system. Stars rumored to be starring in the lead roles are Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Elisabeth Moss, with Vince Vaughn likely playing the villain.
If Lin is indeed directing some episodes, he will join Academy Award-winning director William Friedkin on the directors roster. Not returning is Cary Joji Fukunaga, who directed the entire first season of the show.
True Detective season 2 will premiere in the summer next year.
