Justin Timberlake Leads The Pack With Six VMA Nominations

The nominations for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards have been released and Justin Timberlake is leading the pack with six nominations.  Duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also have a total of six nominations. 

As well as “Mirrors” Justin’s collaboration with Jay-Z “Suit and Tie” has received two of the six nominations.  

In the category of Video of the Year, JT and the video for his hit “Mirrors” is up against Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for “Thrift Shop.” Also nominated in this category are Taylor Swift for “I Knew You Were Trouble,” Bruno Mars for “Locked Out Of Heaven,” and Robin Thicke’s summer hit “Blurred Lines.”

Pink and Robin Thicke have each received three VMA nominations, while Jared Leto and Thirty Seconds To Mars edged ahead of them receiving four nods. 

MTV has utilized the power of social media and chose to announce the nominations for Video of the Year via their Twitter, Instagram and Vine accounts. 

This year’s event will be shown live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25.  MTV has yet to announce who this year’s host will be.
