The Von D/Zimmerman nuptials will be held on August 10th, and they will have an underwater themed ceremony. Von D revealed to People that there will be 200 close friends and family in attendance at the ceremony which will be held in Los Angeles.

Drawing from their mutual love for H.P. Lovecraft’s short story “The Call of Cthulhu,” about a character that is half-man, half-octopus, Von D assures PEOPLE that she and the electronic musician’s ceremony will be “the furthest thing from traditional.”

In an interview with Wendy Williams, Kat Von D confesses, “We’re bookworms. I’m totally nerdy. And Joel and I both love H.P. Lovecraft.” Lovecraft is the author of the short story, “The Call of Cthulhu” which features a half-man half-creature who has the head of an octopus. Harnessing that love of Lovecraft literature and their mutual admiration for the Cthulhu into their wedding theme, Von D guarantees People Magazine that their wedding will be “the furthest thing from traditional”.

Not only will the décor be underwater themed, but some of the food will be blue and green as well. There will also be performers dressed as mermaids, and with this happy couple, who knows what else is bound to show up? I guess we will have to wait and see!
