I’m sure I’m not the only one who has gotten chills when Frank Underwood has turned his head to the audience in House of Cards and spoken directly into the camera.
Did you think I’d forgotten you? Perhaps you hoped I had.

Kevin Spacey, Underwood’s portrayer, appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week, and Colbert asked him who he is addressing when he stares down the camera. Colbert cracked:
Who do you think you’re talking to when you talk right to the camera? Who is that person, is it like a close confidant? Because the person you’re actually talking to, of course, are people on a 10-hour Netflix binge sucking on box wine.
Spacey had the perfect response; he started speaking in Underwood’s lilting voice and revealed:
When I’m looking directly into that camera, I’m talking to one person and one person only — and that is Donald Trump.
Is Trump getting the message? Does he know he’s been warned? Do you think he binges House of Cards like the rest of us?
