Breakout star Taron Egerton has become quite the household name since his role in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. Egerton has charmed fans and directors alike and, while this is good news for the handsome actor, it’s been quite a struggle when it comes to the actor’s scheduling.
Egerton’s overwhelming popularity is a slight issue for Kingsman 2, which is scheduled to head into production in spring.
Kingsman 2 will begin filming in April, which will be a tricky situation for Egerton’s schedule, due to his signing on to star in Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins, which begins production in February.
Fox has a sequel option on the actor, so Kingsman 2 takes precedence over Egerton’s other projects. Furthermore, Kingsman 2 does not have a completed script, but Robin Hood: Origins has a script and is even farther along in development than Kingsman 2. Despite these issues, Fox is reportedly attempting to ensure that Egerton stars in both films.
No matter how things sort themselves out in the end, Egerton will definitely be returning as the young spy Eggsy, so fans need worry not! Not only will they get to see him in the sequel, but in Robin Hood: Origins as well.
