First Trailer For Kingsman: The Golden Circle Is Here | Kingsman

“Manners maketh man.” The first trailer to the highly anticipated sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service was released a couple of days ago. Kingsman: The Golden Circle continues the adventures of Eggsy (Taron Egerton) as the trailer reminds the audience of Eggsy’s transition from an unemployed youth to a sophisticated and professional spy.

The trailer opens with narration from Harry Hart (Colin Firth), Eggy’s beloved mentor and Kingsman agent who was shot by Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) in the first film. “I hope you’re ready for what comes next,” says Hart. Cut to the next scene revealing the destruction of the Kingsman headquarters, which we can assume the order came from Julianne Moore playing the film’s villain. The trailer shows Eggsy and Merlin (Mark Strong) facing new characters.

The trailer does give viewers some indication that these new characters whom Eggsy and Merlin confront are Statesman (one of whom is revealed to be played by Channing Tatum), implying that they are the American counterpart to Kingsman. Throughout the trailer, Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” plays in the background. An appropriate song that sets up the film’s tone. We also catch glimpses of the star-studded class, including Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, and Jeff Bridges. Elton John is reportedly in the sequel, but the trailer did not show him. We will have to wait and see.

The last few seconds of the trailer show Eggsy and Merlin in awe as they discover that Harry Hart, wearing an eyepatch, is alive and well. Unfortunately, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to be released on September 22nd of this year; however, the trailer promises bigger and bolder action sequences and cooler gadgets, including a scene of Eggsy driving a car underwater. Based on the success of Kingsman: The Secret Service, we can only assume that its sequel will meet those expectations. Be sure to check out the Red Band trailer below:
