That’s right, Jon Snow and Ygritte are making it official, which should make you feel less sad the next time you re-watch season 4 of Game of Thrones.
Kit Harington And Rose Leslie Make It Official
The couple took out an official wedding announcement in the London paper the Times, which read, “The engagement is announced between Kit, the younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.”
Rumors of a relationship have swirled around the two since Leslie first joined the Game of Thrones cast as Harington’s love interest in 2012. After reportedly splitting for a year, the pair eventually reunited and made their first public appearance together on the red carpet of the Olivier Awards last April in London.
Shortly after the relationship went public, Harington spoke about their time together working on season 2 in Iceland, admitting that the scenes he shot with Leslie were his favorites. He told L’Uomo Vogue, “Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love.” He added, “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
In 2014, Leslie addressed her relationship with Harington in an interview with People, though still careful to keep their rumored romance under wraps: “Kit is a lovely and funny man, and a dear friend…It was always such a privilege to be working opposite him and such a blessing that we got on in real life because it made our characters more believable.”
