TV Line reports that Chenoweth will be playing Broderick’s sister. The pilot is being written by Scrubs executive producer, Tad Quill (who is also executive producer), and is set to be directed by James Burrows. The multi-camera comedy will centre around Jack (Broderick), a recently widowed father who, while raising his 12-year-old son, is attempting to get back into the dating scene.

According to Deadline.com, Chenoweth will play Marnie, “Jack’s cute but judgmental sister who works as a waitress at a nice but not-too-upscale restaurant”. The pilot will mark Chenoweth’s return to CBS following her on-set accident while filming The Good Wife last season. Injuries sustained from when she was struck by a piece of lighting equipment meant that she was unable to complete her story-arc on the series.

Chenoweth has also guest starred in Glee and won an Emmy in 2009 for her role as Olive Snook in Pushing Daisies.
