Unless you have been off the grid the past week or so, you probably have heard about the now infamous Lady Gaga vomit incident at SXSW on March 13th, 2013. There was such a reaction to this, in fact, that stars like Demi Lovato took to Twitter to share her disgust for the act. In true Gaga fashion, however, she is not backing down.
On Friday, Lady Gaga met with Today host, Savannah Guthrie, and defended her shocking performance with artist, Mille Brown. She told Guthrie, “I guess we weren’t completely surprised. She and I know that not everybody’s going to love that performance.” She when on to say, “But we both really believe in artistic expression and strong identities. I support her and what she does…For us, that performance was art in its purest form.”
When asked by Guthrie if she had any regrets about the incident, Gaga responded with “I feel like everything happens for a reason. I think you learn every time there’s a challenge in your life. I wouldn’t want my fans to have any regrets in their own lives so I would say no.”
Gaga finished the interview by telling fans that she’s not sure where her career will take her after this. Little Monsters and other fans of Gaga can see continue her tour, ArtRave: The Artpop Ball, in May.
