The last big Nintendo Direct left Animal Crossing fans wondering what was in store (you can check out our story about it here), but the new update is chock full of content.

New characters and new islands are plentiful. One we are looking forward to is Kapp’n, who serenades you with sea shanties as he takes players to islands only he knows.

Animal Crossing players are going to have new places to visit besides islands as well. There’s a new cafe where you can meet up with your friends and be served by Brewster the Rooster.

Many of the updates remind us of The Sims, with more extensive designs of furniture and more options for customization. Custom design patterns can even be worn so you can match your walls if you wish.

There are 11 new reactions available in the Reactions Notebook, so players can interact in more ways. New hairstyles are available as well so you can customize your character even more.

A nice new option for players to get their money is also brought to the game, with an ATM being available instead of always having to go to the banking area.

As far as playability updates go, ones that we find exciting include the ability to navigate narrow spaces by turning sideways, the storage shed update, and the inventory management update which will allow players to have up to 5000 items at hand.

K.K. Slider is back and will keep the hits coming, because that’s just how he rolls. There is also buried treasure abound, neat music boxes, and cute little Gyroids.
