While his Parisian fans get to enjoy the chance of seeing Glee’s Chris Colfer strutting down the red carpet tonight for the French premiere of his film Struck by Lightning, UK fans are eagerly awaiting his book signing this coming Sunday. While details have been slow to come out, we can let you in on what we’ve been able to uncover.
As we previously reported, Colfer’s book signing will be taking place this Sunday 16th June at the Waterstones book shop in Bluewater shopping centre in Kent. The signing starts at 1pm and it is a non-ticketed event. This means it’s first come, first served. Fans can have up to 3 books signed and he will only be signing copies of The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell and Struck by Lightning. Because of time restraints, there will be no posed photos with Chris and he will not be signing any merchandise.
In news released today, Waterstones has announced that only books bought at the store will be signed at the event, and you will need proof of purchase. They have also requested that books be purchased before you join the queue. Waterstones opens its doors at 11am on Sunday. They are anticipating a large crowd so they advise getting there early to avoid disappointment.
We can confirm that it is still unclear how long Chris will be signing for. However, when asked about the one-hour limit, staff were surprised and said that their book signings are generally longer than that. Based on the French book signing, we would imagine it would be a similar length of time – 2 hours.
