The game remake that all of us have been waiting for has finally been announced. Nintendo told us at day one of the E3 Expo that the GameCube classic, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is being re-released in HD in October of 2013 on the Wii-U console.

The executive has said that visuals in Wind Waker HD are rendered at 1080p and that the game will make use of “shaders to improve visual expression and texture quality.”
Nintendo’s fourth president, and CEO, Satoru Iwata added: “With these visuals, Wind Waker looks as if it has been reborn.”
Nintendo’s development team has apparently improved the tempo of exploration in the game along with adding some new features, like an update to the Tingle Tuner which allows the GameCube version to connect to GBAs for assisted play.

They’ve also added a new item, the ‘Tingle Bottle’, which lets players interact with the Miiverse community while playing the game. Messages to the Miiverse can be typed or drawn and then put into a bottle, which then gets thrown into the sea. The bottles will then show up in other players’ games.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, is due to hit stores in October.
