Leighton Meester Announces Debut Album, Unveils Artwork And Tracklist

Leighton’s Meester unveils cover art for debut LP titled Heartstrings. The album will be hitting the store shelves on October 28, 2014.

Leighton Meester is known for her starring role as Blair Waldorf in CW’s hit series, Gossip Girl. The actress tried to make a name for herself in music back in 2009 by releasing a couple of pop singles under Universal Music, but she has been independently working on her debut studio album ever since, experimenting with more folk-pop and acoustic sounds. Now the time has finally come for us to get some details on her upcoming project and listen to her brand-new single.

Leighton’s debut LP became available for pre-order on iTunes and so we get to find out everything about it. The album is titled Heartstrings and will be hitting the stores on October 28, via Hotly Wanting.

The first single is the record’s title track and is now on iTunes as well, while you can also give it a listen exclusively on Billboard. The songstress herself stated:

“‘Heartstrings‘ speaks to vibe and encompasses a lot of the themes of the rest of the album. It’s been a long time coming and I’m very excited to finally release it.”

She has worked on the album with Jeff Trott, who is known for his work with Sheryl Crow, and has managed to write most of it by herself. There is no denying things are different now for her, but at least she is finally getting a record out and doing it the way she wants to. Here you can see the official tracklist.

  1. “Heartstrings”
  2. “Run Away”
  3. “Good for One Thing”
  4. “Sweet”
  5. “On My Side”
  6. “L.A.”
  7. “Dreaming”
  8. “Blue Afternoon”
  9. “Entitled”
