We all swooned as Hayden Christensen won our hearts in the role of Anakin Skywalker before he turned into the tyrant Darth Vader.  Sure the movies weren’t amazing, but he was great eye candy. 

Imagine a world where a different swoon worthy actor had the role. 

Well, it turns out the very talented Leonard DiCaprio turned down the very role Hayden Christensen was vaulted to fame for.  Can you picture a scene in your mind from Attack of the Clones or Revenge of the Sith where Leo was smooching Natalie Portman or having a lightsaber fight with Ewan McGregor?

We may never know what that version of the film could have looked like but we do know why Leo passed. 

DiCaprio spoke with The Shortlist on the very subject of passing on the Star Wars series.  According to DiCaprio, “I did have a meeting with George Lucas about that.” 

DiCaprio also talked about a meeting where he was in talks to go for Robin in Batman Forever. But DiCaprio said, “I don’t think I was ready for anything like that.”

Leonardo DiCaprio passed on some huge roles in the late 90s/early 2000s, but those films didn’t do so well, so he might be grateful. 

Though versions with DiCaprio could have made them even better!  Would you have liked to see Star Wars or Batman Foever with Leo?
