Lielack Present Their Sophomore Single “Walls”

“It’s one thing to make art, but having an absolute blast while doing it is probably the best thing ever.”

Built on the sonic talents of vocalist Jason Pascucci, guitarist Andrew Quinn and drummer Jacob Blondin, Lielack – formerly the band Dearbones – surged onto the scene with the release of their debut single “Nu4U” back in September, revealing a powerfully tight melodic three-piece, fully loaded with nuclear energy and a whole lotta heart. Today, PopWrapped are delighted to premiere their second single, “Walls”, which introduces listeners to the originally crafted Nu-Punk style that defines the group, and its accompanying visuals.

The single highlights the uncertainty of letting your guard down as you fall in love. Although edgy in its punk elements, “Walls” possess moments of softer retrospection as the band contemplates the definition of “walls” and the discomfort of opening up to someone at the beginning of a new relationship. “I’ve been climbing up the walls you built around you for all the ones who came before me,” sings Pascucci, tapping into the tension between laying your heart on the line and risking your trust in someone you love. Featuring singer-songwriter Kelaska, “Walls” is emotive, gripping and full of captivating energy.

The accompanying music video sees both singers wandering between the towering plants of a greenhouse, and the idea of “walls” becomes further complicated. Pascucci and Kelaska sing about their doubts and insecurities in becoming vulnerable with one another, all while avoiding each other amid the foliage of the greenhouse. “Honestly, I feel so blessed to be working with such rad people,” says Pascucci. “Kelaska is a powerhouse of talent. The owners of Seed to Stem and Bedlam Book Cafe were amazing for letting us shoot the video. It’s one thing to make art, but having an absolute blast while doing it is probably the best thing ever.”
