The UK has produced some of the biggest musical acts in the world; Adele, The Beatles and One Direction to name just three. Now, inspired by other musical non-conformist icons such as Bjork and Enya, Lily Lambert, a part Irish, part Welsh singer-songwriter is determined to join their ranks and has, since the beginning of her career, been driven to create music that both delights and inspires.
Her debut album, Life of Lily, and follow-up, So Far, brought her critical acclaim from several music outlets, the latter beginning a boom in her fan-base which continues to this day.
There’s a haunting innocence and beauty to Lily Lambert’s music that sets her far apart from the pop-ditty counterparts she finds herself a part of the industry alongside, and by combining folk-rock and country in a unique blend of sounds and styles, she proves herself a talent worthy of the worlds’ attention.
Already an IMEA, Global Music and Akademia award winner, 2016 is undoubtedly Lily Lambert’s year. Her latest track, taken from her new LP Moving On, titled “I Forgive You” is a superb demonstration of the evolution Lily has undertaken in her already impressive career and PopWrapped are delighted to premiere it.
With its stripped back instrumentation, “I Forgive You” showcases Lily’s impressive vocal, rightly putting the listeners’ focus on the lyrics which linger long after they’ve been heard. There’s an honesty to the track which many may find themselves identifying with – as a reflection on a relationship, it’s hard to not find yourself understanding, either from your own point of view, or that of a loved one, exactly what Lily is singing about.
