The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Looking, the comedy about gay men in San Francisco, has been renewed for another season. The HBO series opened to a smaller audience of 338,000 viewers and decreased for the next few episodes, but the last two weeks saw a rise of over 500,000 viewers with the newest even hitting 519,000.

Production will begin later this year and in addition, promoted current supporting actors to series regulars including; Lauren Weedman (Doris, Dom’s best friend and roommate) Russell Tovey (Kevin, Patrick’s boss) and Raul Castillo who plays Richie, (Patrick’s current boyfriend.)

Through repeats and OnDemand services, the freshman series has managed to pull in over two million viewers in a week. Glee star Lea Michelle expressed excitement for her best friend who plays Looking lead, Jonathan Groff, posting a picture on Twitter of the two while wearing matching Beyonce “surfboard” sweaters.
