The American Idol saga continues! You may have heard that Idol is going through a complete overhaul in hopes of luring back in viewers and gaining the top spot as the number one reality singing competition show.
After judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson all left the failing show there were rumors as to who would fill those judges chairs. Some speculated that Idol was hoping for an all alumni panel (with a wish list that included Adam Lambert, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson) while others believed that Jennifer Lopez was reportedly being courted to come back.
However according to The Wrap, who will be taking a spot on the judge’s panel is up in the air again. A few months ago it seemed to be a sure thing that Jennifer Hudson would be returning to the show and was just waiting for the right time to announce it but now that tune has changed.
However, more recent reports are saying that Jennifer Lopez is in fact in negotiations to return to the show after Jennifer Hudson’s contract was never finalized. The big factor though all boils down to the paychecks. Idol which hasn’t been it’s prime for a few years now can’t afford a 15 million dollar paycheck (which is what J.Lo reportedly made in the past) so with J. Hud only looking for $4-5.5 million a season it’ll be interesting to see who takes the chair.
What do you think? Which Jennifer would you prefer – Lopez or Hudson?
