Lorde is the one responsible for the soundtrack of Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. With her own track, “Yellow Flicker Beat”, she gave us the first taste of what it was all going to sound like. The track has now been released in Kanye West’s version as well.
To put it simply, “Yellow Flicker Beat” is basically the way Lorde sees things from Katniss’ eyes in terms of lyrics. Kanye West’s rework, “Flicker”, is basically the same thing, only matches the mood of Jennifer Lawrence’s character better. This one is different in terms of production, dark and haunted. Even though it’s changed, it still sounds all kinds of fantastic in a more twisted way.
This one serves as the fourth offering from the Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 soundtrack. It follows the release of the original “Yellow Flicker Beat”, The Chemical Brothers’ “This Is Not A Game” and CHVRCHES’ “Dead Air”. The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 17.
