The last time we talked to Mad Moon Riot they had just finished their IndieGoGo campaign to have one of their music videos directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada. Well, fans, the wait is now over!
The LA-based band released their music video for their cover of Bruno Mars’ song “Gorilla.” The video is very upbeat and has that Mad Moon Riot feel to it. I spoke with band member Matt Hitchens as he described the story of the music video.
“The video is the story of a gorilla who has always wanted to be a rock drummer so, inspired by his love of us, buys his first kit and sets out on his journey. He goes to auditions only to be shot down for just being a gorilla, but after spotting a MMR gig poster, heads to a show and makes his way on stage to finish the song with us behind the kit. It’s also sort of a prequel to an advert for Cadbury’s Dairy Milk that was shown in the UK 7 years ago.”
