The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) grows larger with the confirmation of two movies in Phase Three: Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. Now while Ant-Man has been known to be in development for a while there was some debate whether or not the Ant-Man movie would be in Phase Two or Phase Three of the MCU.

The Ant-Man movie is slated to be directed by Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz fame with a release date of November 6, 2015 following Avengers 2.

Doctor Strange has only recently been confirmed so there is not much info yet but Kevin Feige, president of production at Marvel Studios has been talking about the idea for years.

“He’s a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: he’s totally different from anything else we have, just like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’,” Feige said in an interview with MTV, “He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is ‘Ant-Man,’ which keeps us excited”

Now for those of you not in the know the MCU is broken into phases. Phase One is the movies from Iron Man to The Avengers. Phase Two is locked and consist of Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2. So out of all the movies in Phase Two only one of them is introducing new characters. It will be kind of refreshing to get some new superheroes out to the public eye.

What do you guys think? Are you excited to see these new heroes on the big screen?
