It seems as of lately, more and more amazing news keeps coming from Marvel and now is no different! Marvel have announced that they will be launching a brand new line of original graphic novels starring some of your favorite superheroes.
With the massive success of superhero movies, like that of Thor and Iron Man, fans will now be able to follow their favorite superheroes in a different form other than a blockbuster movie.
A graphic novel is similar to a comic book but normally will be much, much longer than a normal comic book. In a graphic novel, problems in the story tend to extend to many different books rather than being solved in one issue. They are often aimed more towards adults and have a mature rating that isn’t appropriate for young children. Marvel has previously discussed the option of releasing a graphic novels. It never appeared to be the right time due to the production costs of the books. They have recently discovered though, that the business model regarding graphic novels has changed dramatically and have also realized, perhaps due to the success of titles such as The Walking Dead, True Blood and Sin City, that it is becoming more and more of a preferred format.
Marvel will be partnering with Panini Comics in order to have the new title, Avengers: Endless Wartime, released at the same time worldwide.
As a casual reader of different graphic novels, I think the move to release longer stories of our favorite superheroes is a definite move in the right direction!
