It was a very happy weekend for Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barroso – they renewed their marriage vows! In a beautiful island ceremony, the two gathered with friends and family to recommit themselves to one another on the tenth anniversary of their first meeting. A source told EW “it was a very family-oriented and happy celebration.” Evidently many guests brought their children, who got to run around play after the ceremony. Guests reportedly included long-time friends of the couple, including Ben Affleck (of course), Jennifer Garner, Casey Affleck, Robert DeNiro, and Don Cheadle. Photos from the event show guests such as Chris Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky, Stanley Tucci, and Chelsea Clinton. Everyone was dressed in various shades of white for the beachside ceremony, including custom Naeem Khan gowns for Luciana and the couple’s daughters.
The highlight of the ceremony may actually have been the guy officiating the thing – Jimmy Kimmell! Kimmell and Damon have a relatively high profile friendship, complete with humorous songs and hijinks (I’m sure we all at least remember Kimmell’s Handsome Men’s Club).
The St. Lucia ceremony evidently went off without a hitch – including some seriously gorgeous weather! Temperature in the mid-eighties and clear blue skies made for a gorgeous weekend full of beach activities, tropical food, and relaxation. It sounds like a seriously good time!
Congratulations to Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso on the continuance of their happy marriage!
