The rumors have been swirling for a while now, but wonder no more, Bourne fans! Matt Damon himself has confirmed that he’ll be returning as Jason Bourne.

Matt Damon will once again be leaping into the dangerous world of Jason Bourne. Damon’s best bud Ben Affleck let the news slip during an interview last Friday (Nov. 7). Damon himself soon followed with an announcement to make it official.

Damon told E! News, “It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes.”

Damon has starred in three Bourne movies so far, while Jeremy Renner took the lead as a different character in 2012’s The Bourne Legacy.

Another Bourne film starring Renner has been in the works for a while, and as of this past September, Bourne producer Frank Marshall claimed that Universal would be moving forward with the project.
