Earlier in the week, we reported that Stephen Moffatt confirmed the news that we will be getting an eighth season and the return of the impossible companion Clara (played by the cute as a button Jenna-Louise Coleman), however at that time there was no news on whether the 50th anniversary special in November would end in a burst of regeneration energy.
Fans of Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor can apparently breathe a huge sigh of relief with the news that Matt is fully planning on re-donning the bow tie for Season Eight. Smith, who is currently filming in Detroit on the new Ryan Gosling directed movie, has said that once the movie film has wrapped, he will return to film the Christmas Special over the Summer. He also says that Season Eight is expecting to start filming either towards the tail end of 2013 or the start of 2014.
For many Whovians, this will be very good news, however one of the main questions many will ask how will they explain the distinctly shorter hair our dear Doctor will have, following Smith shaving his head for his part in How to Catch a Monster.
