Max Hernandez confirmed today that he is to reprise his Avengers Assemble role of Agent Jasper Sitwell in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Hernandez posted on his Twitter (in a tweet that has since been deleted – but confirmed by Deadline) that he’s to play “…a much bigger role in a much darker Cap Story. Lots of twists and turns. And lots secrets about the [Marvel Cinematic Universe] revealed! I can’t say much more or the Marvel cops will revoke my S.H.I.E.L.D. clearance! Trust me you will all freak out in the theatre when all is revealed!”
The Captain America sequel also sees the return of Chris Evans in the title role, as well as Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulder, Scarlett Johnson, Sebastian Stan, Toby Jones and Hayley Atwell. Additions to the cast include Anthony Mackie as Falcon (Captain America’s sidekick), Frank Grillo as the villain Crossbones, and Emily VanCamp in the role of Sharon Carter, Peggy Carter’s niece.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens in cinemas on April 4, 2014.
