It’s like hell has frozen over. After being at each other’s throats for years, Michael Bay has hired Megan Fox to be the new April O’Neill in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. This come as quite a surprise to many as Fox was fired by Bay from the last Transformers film after she attacked him in the press.

Fox likened Bay to Adolf Hitler (Damn!) and called him “a nightmare to work for” (burn!). He responded by giving her the boot. Fox has not exactly suffered since being fired by Bay. She has had a few hits under her belt (Friends With Kids, This is 40). I like to pretend Jennifer’s Body does not exist personally. Her personal life is also on the up as she has gotten married and gave birth to a son last year.

Perhaps Bay has taken all this into consideration. Either way, he is not directing this reboot; he is the producer so their time together will be limited. Sources say Fox and Bay reconciled over a series of recent meetings and that one tete-a-tete that won her over was with director Jonathan Liebesman, who wowed her with the storyboards, according to insiders.

Burying the hatchet has changed Bay’s attitude, I must say, since he was the one who let the cat out of the bag via his blog: “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!”

Only time will tell if this peace will be permanent. For the sake of this reboot, I hope so!

Does Megan Fox have what it takes to lead the TMNT reboot? Are you excited for the Turtles return to the big screen?
