Michael Bay, folks! This could either be a massive failure, or a huge turning point for his current career.
Bay is reported to be eyeing out the director’s chair for 13 Hours, an action drama based on the Benghazi attacks. This is still early talk, so nothing’s absolutely certain yet, but this project would most definitely help Paramount stay in business.
The film is based on the book by Mitchell Zuckoff, bearing the same title. The book told the terrifying true story of the attacks on the US CIA offices in Benghazi, Libya. It is a considerable change of pace from Bay’s previous films. Could this dramatic change in film style and tone for Bay accelerate his success?!
Bay has also confirmed that he will not be directing the next Transformers movie. Apparently, he is choosing this project over the fifth installment in his highly profitable franchise.
No release date has been revealed for 13 Hours, but Transformers 5 will still be released on June 24, 2016. No director for that project has been announced yet. Will this end well? It’s Michael Bay, so who even knows.
What do you think? Will Bay land this directing job and find he enjoys directing this genre of film? Will the movie be any good in his hands? Will it stay true and respectful to the real events, or will it stray down a completely different path?
