Divergent made a killing at the box office in March ($286 billion to be exact), but its own star, Miles Teller, didn’t seem to be too much of a fan. According to an interview in The Hollywood Reporter, by the time Teller got to work on his latest film, Whiplash, he was feeling “dead inside.”

The apparent quote from Teller reads: “I didn’t have a[n] interesting part [in Divergent], and I’d taken the film for business reasons: It was the first movie I’d done that was going to have an international audience. I called my agent and said ‘This sucks’.”

The young actor’s rep tried to fix up the mess by saying that Teller regrets what he said and values his relationship with Lionsgate, but before long Teller contradicted what his rep said on Twitter.

He tweeted:

Whatever really went down, it looks like he has benefited from appearing in a young adult film franchise. He will be on screen with former America’s Next Top Model contestant Analeigh Tipton in the rom-com Two Night Stand later this year, and is also part of the Fantastic Four reboot, which will screen in 2015.
