Okay, now you’ve let that news sink in, here’s the deal. Two years on from her foam-finger, tush-twerking performance with Robin Thicke, MTV has taken the very brave step of letting one of the most outspoken, daring, and sometimes just downright random people on the planet host the biggest awards show of the year (minus the Grammys, of course).
Ever tongue in cheek, Miss Cyrus chose a rather humorous way of breaking the news to her millions of fans via this Instagram post:

What she’ll get up to on the night is anybody’s guess, but you can bet this awards ceremony will most certainly be an interesting, entertaining one.
Taylor Swift leads the nominees with nine, but considering how Cyrus stole the show back in 2013, Miss Swift better be careful she doesn’t do it again!
The VMAs will be broadcast live from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on August 30 at 9PM ET. Voting is now open at vma.mtv.com.
