The Mindy Project: 04×03, Leo Castellano Is My Son

Mindy learns what it’s like to be a stay at home Mom, Danny is overprotective and we learn about TLC Tuesdays in this week’s episode of “The Mindy Project.”

Welcome back, Mindy Fans, as our girl learns the trials and tribulations of motherhood.

And we learn about TLC Tuesdays.

Let’s recap.

Prince Leo Castellano is brought into his new home by his doting parents and Danny has successfully baby proofed the apartment. And by baby-proofing, that means removing everything with a screen within a 50 foot radius. Danny says it would be bad for Leo, and gets more and more Italian with each moment he dotes on his son.

Got love Papa Castellano.

Mindy and Danny put their beautiful new baby down for bed (I mean, seriously, how adorable is little Leo?!) when Mindy’s raunchy neighbour makes her nightly romps known.

You do you, girl!

Danny decides to go over to her apartment and tell her to keep the noise down, because they no longer have a TV to drown out the noise. He also tells Mindy that she and Leo are to stay in for the day as the world is a scary place and leaves a picture of himself so Leo won’t forget his Papa.

Mindy slowly goes crazy in the screen-less environment, so decides to leave the house for a Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal book signing.

I mean, Jake Gyllenhaal probably doesn’t have rubella, right?

After their trip out into the real word, Mindy informs Leo he should be proud Peter Skaarsgard told her to leave his wife alone, when the door closes behind her and Leo is locked inside the apartment. Every new mother’s nightmare.

She runs down the hall to the noisy neighbour, who happens to be home, and hops across her balcony to get back to her son before Danny pops home for lunch.

Mindy and her neighbour, Chelsea (played by Happy Endings alum Eliza Coupe) bond after Danny leaves, and Chelsea says she’d like to meet a nice guy, even if he was poor.

Enter Morgan.

Back at the office, Morgan is feeling sorry for himself and his lack of a love life, while Jeremy is elated over his new relationship with Whitney. Tamara asks him to implement TLC Tuesdays.

No scrubs.

In other news, Dr. Burgdahl quits the practice because his wife took him back, so he is now moving to Philadelphia.

Tamara is checking out Mindy’s wardrobe for inspiration, when Whitney walks in on a call saying, “I’ll see you at 8:30. Of course he doesn’t know, he’s an idiot.” Tamara immediately texts her cousin Sheena (Laverne Cox) about her boss’s girlfriend cheating on him.

Sheena says she wishes her job was interesting, and that she hates working at the White House.

Gotta love cousin Sheena.

Tamara breaks the news to Jeremy the only way she knows how: by text.

Jeremy and Tamara crash Whitney’s “date,” which is actually an engagement party for one of her colleagues that she had organised secretly.

Tamara decides to keep out of her business in future, even when she catches her doing cocaine in the bathroom later in the episode.

Morgan and Chelsea’s date goes well, and Mindy and Danny catch the end of it. Through the wall, Danny discovers that Mindy left the house, and Mindy discovers that Danny has a nanny cam watching her through the photo he left for Leo.

Furious, she leaves the house and goes to the bar, while Danny stays behind with Leo.

She runs into two guys, who are celebrating being away from their kids for the evening, and realises how lucky she is to have Danny as her baby’s dad. She returns and informs him she’ll make mistakes, but he has to trust her because she trusts him and loves their son, and Danny says he does trust her, he just misses her and Leo.

And Morgan ruins the perfect family moment by accidentally flashing them.

Gotta love The Mindy Project.
