Supermodel Miranda Kerr officially tied the knot with billionaire Evan Spiegel in an intimate ceremony at their home in Brentwood, California on Saturday.
According to TMZ, the ceremony itself was kept top secret. The 50 guests who attended the wedding arrived in vans and limousines with dark tinted windows, and as an added precaution they were picked up from undisclosed locations before being driven up to the house.
According to reports there were a few high profile attendees and a few of Miranda's fellow models. The guests were mostly close friends and family, which also includes Kerr's six year old son Flynn with her ex-husband Orlando Bloom, who was not present at the ceremony.
A source told People, "The wedding and reception are intimate, but lavish and classy. Miranda has been very involved. She has great taste and knew exactly what she wanted. She is very sweet. She is ecstatic to marry Evan".
An open air tent is reported to have been built in the couple's backyard garden, and was decorated with rustic chairs, white tables and was filled with light pink roses. Cocktails were served around 4 p.m. when the guests started to arrive. The ceremony itself lasted only twenty minutes and the bride and groom had tears in their eyes, while a pianist and string quarted played a rendition of "When You Wish Upon a Star," a song taken from Disney's animated classic, Pinocchio.
The couple first met on 2014 at a Louis Vuitton event, a year after Kerr's divorce to Bloom. They started dating in 2015, and were engaged in July 2016. This is Kerr's second marriage, while it will be the first for Spiegel.
Spiegel is an internet-entrepeneur who founded Snapchat with friends Booby Murphy and Reggie Brown while they were still students at Stanford. He comes from an upper middle class background with both parents working as lawyers and he was raised in California. According to Forbes his net worth is around $4.4 billion. The more high profile and famous Miranda Kerr meanwhile was born and raised in Australia. She is one of the world's most succesful and highest paid models, and she has a net worth of around $45 million.
Congratulations Miranda and Evan!
