Inspired by several genres – though mostly rock – and decades of music ranging from the 60’s to the present day, Model Stranger – Stephen Francis, Kevin James and Vincent Joseph – have already earned themselves press descriptions such as “an eclectic synthesis of psychedelic grunge and classic rock”, while the band refer to themselves more as “an analog band living in a digital world.” Their sound and style is perfect for anyone who loves music with a rock undertone, though the band have proudly put their own stamp on things.
Following on from the release of previous single “Breaks My Heart”, which served as a great introduction for newcomers to the band and showcased their undeniable skills as a group, the trio are continuing to tease their upcoming LP Phases by dropping the video for their new track “Pick Me”, which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, and which harnesses more of their energy. With fantastic instrumentation blended with powerful lyrics, the song will likely find itself stuck in the heads of many who hear it in the days and weeks ahead.
Asked about the creative and filming process to the video, drummer Vincent says: “This was definitely the easiest music video to shoot… we did it in one take and took a whopping 3 minute 8 seconds to do so. The concept is simple enough- it is a live performance from a show we played in Chicago with The Anniversary at Lincoln Hall. However, the fun part is all of the footage for the video was shot on various cell phones in the audience and submitted to us. The gathered footage was then edited into a cohesive high-octane-video for the song; which is the best way to capture this raw rock n’ roll song. The video is best enjoyed with a glass of whiskey and clenched fist pumping in the air.”
