Mitch ColeLady Gaga has reacted to the news that a brand new ARTPOP track, “Aura”, was leaked online yesterday and swiftly made its way across the unforgiving internet. At the news of the leak, many versions of the song were removed from sites such as YouTube but the damage had already been done - users has ripped the mp3 and new uploads were appearing all throughout the day under different names and in different areas of the web.
Speaking directly to her fans on the official Little Monsters website
, Gaga urged them to “please take these [links] down as much as possible.” Never the one for a simple album campaign, Stefani is attempting to keep this album a secret, with slithers of information being released when she deems fit.
To keep fans on their toes after the leak, Lady Gaga tweeted a brand new picture from the ARTPOP era. Fans can only speculate as to the importance of this photo - is it the album cover or perhaps just a insight from a new photoshoot?
August 19th signals the end of the beginning, as “Applause” is finally premiered and with that will come the live performance at the VMAs on August 25th. Whilst leaked songs are gold-dust to fans and critics, they ruin the excitement of a new album as well as the hard work put in by the artist.
ARTPOP will be released November 11th.
