In an exclusive tidbit revealed to TVLine, it seems that fans of the NBC show Heroes may see a revival of the series.
Following in the footsteps of Netflix with original programming, MSN has decided to jump on the train and make a push into original programming via the Xbox. They are currently in talks to bring the Heroes back to life.
While details are sparse at best, we do know that MSN has expressed interest in rebooting the NBC series, but with new stories and new heroes. However, don’t worry, there are talks of cameos from some of the previous original heroes that we all know and love. (Personal sidenote-If Milo Ventimiglia isn’t on that list, I’m going to riot.)
Back in February, MSN hired Jada Miranda to oversee the production of is Xbox entertainment studio. Miranda was previously an NBC development executive. Miranda will be working under Nancy Tellem, ex-CBS president, who joined MSN last fall.
Heroes was a hit for NBC out of the gate being the highest rated drama premiere for NBC in 5 years, but began to falter after the writer’s strike forced NBC to change paths with the storyline. After bailing water for as long as they could, NBC finally cancelled the series after four seasons.
It will be interesting to see how many Heroes fans will check out the rebirth. MSN, go ahead and put me down for a +1. Let’s get ready to save the world…again!
