The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes had surgery back in April to fix a hemorrhaged nodule on one of his vocal cords, and is still recovering.
The 20 year-old had been experiencing voice issues in the sound booth, as shown in the premier of the new E! reality show, The Wanted Life. After a trip to the doctor to show the vocal nodule, the decision was made to go under the knife.
Nathan has had to take a break from the group, and although the surgery went well, he admitted to E! that his voice still is “not really there at the moment.”
“I’m having a few problems and we’re still trying to work out what’s up with it but hopefully I’ll be better soon,” he explained.
The Wanted Life airs Sundays on the E! network. The boys’ new single “Walks Like Rihanna” debuts June 23rd.
