Glee star Naya Rivera graces the cover of Complex’s August/September 2013 issue; and it looks like she’s going all in.
The talented singer/actress sat down with Complex magazine to talk about what she did before she became Glee’s resident HBIC and how she wants to be like Betty White.
Rivera came into season one of the hit show Glee as a background character, but throughout the years her sass, voice and emotional coming out story as Santana Lopez won over many people.
However, she wasn’t sure how long she’d be on the show in the beginning, “I was still a nanny up until the third episode of season one,” she revealed.
As a child, she appeared in several sitcoms including The Royal Family, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Family Matters. But that didn’t help her high school experience. She went on to tell Complex that she didn’t have many friends and that her prom date left her to dance with other girls.
What does Rivera have to say about a new girlfriend? “It would be funny if she had a girlfriend who had Lena Dunham’s personality. She’s been crying for two seasons now. I’d like her to just have fun.”
With Glee, an upcoming thriller called Home and a solo album, Rivera is a busy girl. “I want to be like Betty White – 90 years old and still killing it,” she says. Fans are definitely excited to see what’s in store for the rising star.
And I think it’s safe to say, she’s not folding anytime soon.
