With the TONY Awards set for June 9 there is much speculation as to who would be this years Master of Ceremonies and if it the New York Daily News proves to be right, that person will be none other than Neil Patrick Harris.
Sources close to the biggest night for Broadway is without a doubt going to emcee the awards. “NPH is hosting again,” a Broadway snitch told The News’ theater critic, Joe Dziemianowicz. “David Burtka is blabbing it everywhere.”
To prepare for his hosting duties, Harris has been spotted numerous times on the Great White Way. To a TONY’s insider, he has “quietly been making the rounds of shows.” He’s recently been spotted at “Cinderella” and “Macbeth.” When asked when the host of the 67th annual Tony Awards will be named, a spokesperson for the ceremony said “no comment.” The 39-year-old star has emceed the TONY’s three times — in 2009 as well as the last two years. He was also credited as a producer of the 2012 ceremony. Harris’ fourth go as host would put him behind only five-time host Angela Lansbury (and who doesn’t love Angela Lansbury?).
