Are you bored? Struggling to find something to do to pass the time on a rainy day? Do you sometimes find yourself unhappy about your passed television watching experiences? Well, I’m here to help! Here’s my list of top 5 movies/television shows on Netflix Instant Play right now (chances are you haven’t seen some of them).
5.) Sherlock (TV-14): Preview
I guarantee you that this show will keep you on the edge of your seat from the start. Sherlock is set in modern day London and follows the happenings of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson as the duo tackles cases that will have you guessing until the very end of each episode. Just to forewarn you, this show is set up as more of a miniseries with each episode being an hour and a half long and with only 3 episodes to a series. So, be sure to set more than just an hour aside for this show, because chances are you’ll watch an entire series in just one night!
4.) Bernie (PG-13):
In this quirky black comedy Jack Black plays Bernie, an assistant mortician who’s by far the most popular man in his small, Texas town. However, As he begins to spend more time with a gruff, elderly woman things start to go downhill for Bernie. This movie is quaint, funny, and definitely a pleasant way to spend a relaxing night on the sofa.
3.) Jeff, Who Lives at Home (R):
In this tale of self-discovery, Jason Segal plays Jeff, an unmotivated, lonely stoner who still lives with mother, albeit in her basement apartment, and believes that everything happens for a reason. We follow him, his brother, Pat (played by Ed Helms) and mother, Sharon (played by Susan Sarandon) as fate takes them through one of the most important days in all of their lives.
2.) Doctor Who (TV-PG):
This is definitely a show you want to start watching from the beginning and I promise you it is worth it. This show is a thrill ride from the start, full of laughs and plenty of tears (just ask my mom, she cried like a baby) as we follow The Doctor and his companions throughout time and space on their magical adventures. This show builds on each episode that you watch so I urge you to start from the beginning. This is definitely a show the whole family can and will enjoy.
1.) Life in a Day (PG-13):
This is a thrilling piece of work. Producer Ridley Scott, Director Kevin MacDonald and their team of editors set out to film the entire world on July 24th 2010, but they needed one thing; you. That’s right, this movie is comprised of viewer submitted videos to give a remarkable look at what happens around the Earth at the same time on a single given day. This film is a masterpiece, but because of some adult content it is rated PG-13. I strongly advise everyone to see this move. It will touch your heart, and make you feel apart of this great planet that we live on.
