It’s humans for the win in this brand-new trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim! In the disaster spectacle, human-built giant robots called “Jaegers” face off against gargantuan monsters called “Kaiju” for domination of the planet. If you like Independence Day (or any other disaster film with a great inspiring speech from a male lead), then this trailer is for you; all the big battles take place over Idris Elba’s “cancelling the apocalypse” lines. Beautiful.

If the new trailer isn’t enough for you, they’ve also released an IMAX FANFIX-exclusive print for the film. If you check out the film in IMAX 3D on opening weekend, you can pick one of these posters up for yourself!
Here’s what del Toro himself had to say about the artwork:
“I am thrilled to introduce Sergio Grisanti to the world. For years he has been a highly respected commercial artist. When I was first exposed to his art for Pacific Rim I knew instantly that he was a powerhouse of talent. He created the Jaeger posters/card art we used at Wondercon. Without any hesitation I asked him to create this new IMAX FANFIX art. Look at it closely – with a magnifying glass! So much going on! Such power! Such beauty! Sergio loves his Kaijus and his Mecha, and it shows. The poster, like my film, is a tribute to well-loved things. I wish all the fans the best time at the first IMAX screenings of Pacific Rim.
