President Barack Obama, has faith that NBA player LeBron James will be regarded as the best basketball player of all time before his eventual retirement. Obama thinks that LeBron could potentially play for another ten years which would make the Miami Heat forward nearing 40 years old, and that he could surpass his own NBA idol Michael Jordan’s success. LeBron has already been looked upon by multiple basketball analysts who claim him to be the best NBA player today, and of all time. President Obama spoke with Charles Barkley before Sunday’s All-Star game.

“You know LeBron. I know LeBron. When you are standing next to him, and then you watch him close up, I’ve never seen somebody that size, that fast, who can jump that high, who is that strong, who has that much basketball savvy all in one package.”

“So we don’t yet know where he is going to be,” he continued, “Now, I’m a Chicago guy and Mike will always be the guy, for me, just because that was a magical moment for the city. And he was a champion. Mike is now retired. LeBron, when you look at him, you think he might be able to play at a high level for another seven, eight, 10 years. He’s 29 years old. In terms of every aspect of the game, LeBron has a chance to be as good as anybody.”

Though James hasn’t quite broken the records held by Jordan, six time NBA champion and five time MVP; James is a four time MVP and two time NBA champion, but given the amount of time he still has to play, we could be watching NBA history in the making.
