More casting news has been released regarding X-Men: Days of Future Past.

French actor Omar Sy, best known for his performance in the critically acclaimed 2011 film The Intouchables, has officially signed on. We don’t know who he’ll be playing but director Bryan Singer has taken to Twitter to say how “thrilled” he is to welcome Sy onto the project. This casting decision comes just weeks after Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) signed on to play another as-yet-unknown character.

Also on board for the film are many of our old X-Men favorites – including Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, and Anna Paquin – as well as some of our newer favorites – James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult. The film will be based on a classic plot arc from The Uncanny X-Men, in which the original stars of the franchise will play “older versions of their characters in a dystopian future in which mutants are hunted down.”
