Lionsgate’s Reawakening is off to a good start as far as casting goes. Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass have already signed on to the project, and now Sarah Bolger will join the cast.
Bolger is likely best known for her recent role as Sleeping Beauty (or Princess Aurora) on ABC’s smash hit Once Upon A Time. But, some of us know her better as Princess Mary (daughter of King Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon) from Showtime’s amazing docudrama, The Tudors.
Reawakening follows a group of research students that unearth the secret to resurrecting the dead. But, of course, you cannot raise the dead without dire consequences, which the group reaps from their actions.
The film will be directed by David Gelb (Jiro Dreams of Sushi) with the script being written by Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater. Blum will produce the film through his Blumhouse brand partnering with Mosaic Media Group; while Matt Kaplan and Dawson will be acting executive producers.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group’s President of Production, Erik Feig and their Executive VP of Production, John Sacchi, will take charge of the project on behalf of the studio.
