One Direction played to 65 000 shrieking fans last night at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The concert makes the 3rd night in a row the British boy band played the venue, breaking the record for most nights played in a row by one band.
That wasn’t the only reason for celebration last night, it was Niall Horan’s 21st birthday! The Irish member can now legally drink in the United States. The boys had the venue serenade him with “Happy Birthday” while Harry Styles made a great birthday speech. He told everyone Niall loves beer, he’ll be super drunk later that night and that everyone was invited to his birthday party. Hahaha! Riiiiiiiight. Those details were kept very under the radar with several celebrity guests attending. Niall still received plenty of gifts from the audience, including edible underwear, a plethora of baseball caps and the usual lingerie.
The boys took it up a notch musically with the show as well. I would know…I’ve been to several dates this tour. When they introduced their band members they broke into song each time. They sang their old tune “I Want,” Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls,” The Black Eyed Peas “Tonight’s Gonna Be A Good Night,” and Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body.” Louis interviewed Niall like he usually does and all five of them thanked the crowd numerous times. It was almost nauseating how grateful they were to be on that stage. Soooo freaking cute!
One Direction released a new single, for free, online last week entitled “Fireproof” to keep all their fans on their toes. Liam also announced this morning via Twitter that their first single off of their fourth studio album, Four, will be called “Steal My Girl” which will be released September 29, 2014.
