Abbie Bethell

Staff Writer

Former One Tree Hill fan favourites, Robert Buckley and Shantel VanSanten, have both secured themselves a spot in TV pilots, Holding Patterns and Gang Related retrospectively. The pair are best known for their role as popular couple Clay and Quinn in the CW’s One Tree Hill.

Since One Tree Hill, Buckley starred in 666 Park Avenue, however the show was cancelled by ABC in November 2012 due to poor ratings. Buckley has now signed up for the NBC comedy pilot Holding Patterns. The multi-camera comedy will follow a group of friends, whose lives change dramatically after surviving a plane crash. Buckley will play arrogant Chad, a once misogynist now turned chick-lit author.

VanSanten has joined Gang Related, a TV pilot brought to you by Fox. Gang Related is a drama about a gang member infiltrating the San Francisco Police Department. VanSanten will play the daughter of the gang force’s captain and a doctor who treats the show’s protagonist, Ryan’s injuries.

This follows the news of fellow cast member, Sophia Bush also getting signed for a pilot. She was signed to CBS’s Partners, but that was cancelled, without airing a full season. Hatfields and McCoys will show Bush playing the role Dr. Emma McCoy, the oldest sibling and lead example in her family. The NBC drama will focus on two feuding families the McCoys and Hatfields, reigniting their rivalry due a death that affects both families. It will be a case of battle of wealth vs. blue collar in order to see who gets control of the town!

Are you looking forward to seeing the two actors back in action? Will you be watching Holding Patterns and/or Gang Related? Let us know!!
