Having formed in 2002 and as a group and non-profit organization that strive to spread hope and positivity through the music they share with the world, the One Voice Children’s Choir, who were quarter finalists on Season 9 of America’s Got Talent, have delighted audiences at venues across the US and around the world and even performed at the White House.
With millions of fans – they have 3M subscribers on YouTube and 76K likes on Facebook – they’re a group whose music and message touches and unites everyone who hears it, and PopWrapped are delighted to premiere the video for their cover of Shakira’s “Try Everything.”
Asked why they chose to cover this song in particular, several members of the group shared that they have their own personal reasons and connections to the track. “To me, try everything means that you should always be willing to try new things and keep on going with them even when things can be hard” says Lucy. Liliana adds: “Try Everything means that even if things get hard, or you fail, you can always get back up and try again and again. I like the words of the song because they encourage us to go for it!”
Emma feels a particularly strong connection to the song, explaining: “This song came at a time when I had been trying something big, myself. The lyrics “Look how far you’ve come… baby you’ve done enough take a deep breath” took on a whole new meaning to me. It’s an amazing song, and it inspires me to try new things regardless of the outcome!” Meanwhile Madelyn had this to say: “Fear is a reason to try harder. If you’re afraid to try something, all the more reason to do it – as long as it doesn’t harm you or others of course! Trying new things can unlock new passions and emotions.” Perhaps the most powerful statement from the group about the song comes from Reagan who shared this message for their fans who hear their rendition: “I want listeners to know that they can accomplish anything if they TRY.”
